In San Diego, dinner reservations for popular izakaya, hot pot and Korean BBQ spots fill up on Friday and Saturday nights, so booking ahead or arriving at opening is worth it. Many restaurants across California run daily lunch specials on weekdays that are not listed on the dinner menu, so it is worth asking. I keep forgetting to take pictures of the actual food. I love coming here. Whether its for the lunch special, sake tastings, dinner, happy hour? They have nothing but deals on deals. The service is delightful.

Some meals make you lose track of space and time. You become absorbed in the bowl. This is one of those places. The Katsu Curry is full of flavor and the chicken is perfectly cripsy and light. I am not typically a fan of tempura because it can be oily and flavorless; however, their tempura appetizers are delicious and the fry is light and pleasant. The Spicy Miso Ramen is creative and mediumly spiced (if you want more spice, they give you a tray of spices to add). The only dish that I had that was unremarkable was the Spicy Cucumber Salad. I thought the cucumbers would be marinated, but it was fresh cucumbers with chili oil. Nonetheless, meals are fantastic! Pleasant, warm atmosphere with lots of natural light. Our server Natalie was attentive and helpful!

Very good ramen that is comparable to Japan from what I had there. Same for the karaage and the server was very kind to me with the recommendations. Highly recommend coming here.

If I could give service 20 stars, I would!! She was absolutely amazing in letting us know more information about traditions and how to enjoy certain dishes to their maximum potential. The happy hour is also a great deal. The sushi was quite possibly the best cut of fish Iβve ever had. The texture when eating it within the roll was truly one of my peak dining experiences!! The size of the house hot sake was plentiful for splitting between two people (thankfully we were walking back)
